National Dress of Bhutan

 

The national dress of Bhutan is Gho for Men and Kira for Women. It is really very different uniform dress from the others. It was given as the national dress of Bhutan by Zhubdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Mainly to differentiate our country from Tibet. And it was codified over 400 years.

Kira is the national dress of Bhutan for women. Kira is in rectangular in shape. Women use to wear Kira in two types.

Half Kira 

Full Kira

              Full Kira

While we are waring full Kira we use Koma. Full Kira is our true national dress of Bhutan.

while wearing half Kira there is no need of Koma to be used. And Kira should be wear up to ankle-length. In both full Kira and half Kira we should wear Tego ang Wonjo.

Gho is National dress of Bhutan for men. Men usually use to wear the Gho up to knee length. And They should use lagay while wearing gho.
